I am pleased at the positive response I have gotten from last month's inaugural newsletter. My hope is that as more parents read this, it would not only become a helpful resource in planning their student's calendar, but a means of communication between me and you. Let me encourage you to encourage your friends to subscribe to this letter!
As we move forward into the summer, there are many opportunities for you and your students to connect with what God is doing here at Pathway. Besides Kids Sports Camp in July (which is a great place to serve as a family!), we have summer camp for both middle school and high school students. If you missed the deadline for those camps, you can still sign up and be put on a wait-list for when spots become available. The experts agree that summer camp is one of the most formational experiences for a student's faith.
Besides summer camp, I am pleased to announce a new and exciting event for the student ministry: Pathway Students United! This is a one-night high-energy, wildly active, and intense worship experience for both middle school and high school students. Pathway Students United will meet for 7 Wednesdays, 6p-8p. It will have events such as slip 'n slide kickball, food fight, or Circle of Chaos, followed by a time of peer-led worship with both middle school and high school students, and end with a time of relevant Bible teaching. Drinks and snacks will be provided each night. To hype up each Wednesday gathering, we will also have an event called Pathway Takesover... This will be a one hour local meet-and-greet at such places as Starbucks and Augies. There is much more to this summer event, so let me encourage you to check it all out online! I look forward to a fun, intense, and Jesus-impacting summer for your students.
